We have now shipped the first few copies of Confusions of an Unmarried Couple to the critics. Now it is the waiting game, sure we think we made one helluva a fucking movie about a real couple, but what are others going to think, it is now the waiting game. IT'S LIKE GOING DOWN ON A GIRL WHO MAKES NO SOUNDS!
You have no idea if she is liking what you're doing, so you just keep doing what your doing and hope at some point she's going to EXPLODE with pleasure. That's what we're waiting for now, THE AUDIENCE TO RIP UP IN APPLAUSE!

As for the ongoing pimp of our other flicks, we just received some kind words from the south for BUMS, see what the The Tampa Film Fan had to say, then buy the fucking movie!

You know it's funny, no matter how ugly you are, how dumb you are, how shitty things are around you, while having sex, you know, no matter what, you're doing exactly what everybody else wants to be doing. There is that feeling that things just may be alright.

To segue, that's the feeling you get as filmmaker when you watch your completed film. This is of course before it is sent out to the critics, before your your sitting with a live audience and listening for every thing that emanates from them, whether it be a laugh, a sigh, a rustle.

Then if the critics hail you, the audience loves you, well then, that's an orgy baby, that's when you not only glow from thinking things are alright, but are in simple disbelief of how you got into this room....then you get kicked out, the next night the crowd has totally changed....

We are just putting the finishing touches on our third film CONFUSIONS OF AN UNMARRIED COUPLE, and are going to start sending it out to the critics next week. Although we are very confident in the film, it is like sending your kid off to school, you hope they get along with other kids, and that they are ready, but how the fuck do you know how people are going to react. Of course I have no plans for kids in the near future, I am way to bloody selfish for that, this film is the closest thing to birthing I can imagine. The film hits pretty close to home.

The film is a real raw, intimate look at the nuts and bolts of a relationship. If you have been in a long term relationship, I think you may relate to the details of this couple, although I may feel sorry for you if you do, be sure to check out our trailer at www.myspace.com/subprod.

Last night our second feature BUMS was screened at Penn State in Erie, PA. Regrettfully we couldn't be there because we were stuck working our retail gigs(making coffee, renting videos) in order to keep earning cash for our next film. Thankfully, our man with the plan, Dan Stasiewski from The Film Chair was there straight pimping for Subprod. This hopefully will be the first of many screenings in the college circuit, and in honour of this cherry being popped there will be a few cold ones tipped back tonight. Check out the preview for BUMS on our MySpace if you haven't yet.

Here's just a taste of the buzz from BUMS:

“Slackers or not, the Butler Brothers have created a film that can speak to a generation.”
Dan Stasiewski, TheFilmChair.com

“…the rawness of a Kevin Smith script with the sharp intelligence of something penned by Whit Stillman.” Jonathan Hickman, Einsiders.com

“Seldom have the rules of sexual stereotyping been so thoroughly trounced.”
Travis Mackenzie Hoover, FilmFreakCentral iViews

“The changing synergy of the heterosexual relationship in post millennium America is truly the focus of this film and the Butler Brothers bring an insight and a wit to the table that is sorely missing in their cinematic peers arsenal.” Lodger, Filethirteen.com
